About
Born in Canada, John Lennox holds a BA and an MA in English Literature from McGill University, where he wrote his master’s thesis on John Ashbery, Harold Bloom, and Marjorie Perloff.
His poetry and criticism have appeared in Poetry, Chicago Review, Wasafiri, The Malahat Review, and on PoetryNow. He is a member of Brooklyn Poets and the Ted Hughes Society.
A fluent reader and speaker of French, and an enthusiastic reader of Ted Hughes, John is currently developing several literary projects centering on anti-omniscience in Michel de Montaigne, Patrick Modiano, and Hughes. He is also working on the connections between Hughes and Dante, particularly the roles of Sylvia Plath and Beatrice in their respective poetic imaginations.
Away from his literary work, he enjoys fishing on Stoney Lake in Ontario. He lives in New York City with his wife.
